REVIEW: NetFront v3.5 for Windows Mobile Concept Version

Well, the browser war is not dead yet. True, it has actually been quite a while since the last beta of the Netfront version was released, but it is still alive and still packs a punch to give its rivals some serious competition. Was it actually able to impress us? Read on to find out!

Skyfire review

The fantastic skyfire browser promises to set a new standard in the mobile browser world. It offers blistering fast browsing when compared to other mobile browsers.

I loaded up mobilityupdate.com immediately after its installation.

The font was not that readable. Tapping in an area zooms in but it does not reflows text. Yes, there is a setting to do so, but then it will keep the text wrapped in even when you full page view. This is unlike what happens in Opera mobile which reflows the text only when you zoom-in an area.

ASUS EEE 1000H REVIEW

ASUS is regarded as the first company which made the term netbooks popular among the crowd. It’s first model of the EEE series, the 700 series was a huge success. Soon, the netbooks evolved and so did the ASUS EEE range. The shabby 800 x 480 resolution of the EEE 700 series was rectified in the 900 series, which sported 1024 x 600 resolution.

But, there was one common complaint among all the EEE PCs so far. The keyboard. Some people also yearned for a little bigger display. ASUS came out with 1000H to address those issues. So, was the ASUS successful in it’s mission? Read on to find out!

Let me first give you a quick glance at its specs:

SPRINT TOUCH PRO / HTC TOUCH PRO review

Folks at Gadgetmix are working at light speeds. Yesterday, they came up with HTC TOUCH HD review and now, HTC TOUCH PRO.

HTC TOUCH PRO = HTC DIAMOND + keyboard + bigger battery

“The next thing is that tells itself apart from the diamond the keyboard. It features a 57 button keyboard. HTC has dedicated an entire row to numbers only. On previous devices, you had to either hit some type of shift/fn button to bring up the numbers. The keyboard also features a few dedicated shortcut buttons. The icons differ on each device but in general, you get one for a new text or mms message as-well-as a mail inbox button.”

HTC TOUCH HD review

Folks at Gadgetmix.com have done a nice, informative review of HTC Touch HD. According to the reviewer, harvsingh, it is the best windows mobile ever.

“Undoubtedly, it is the most advanced Windows Mobile handset I’ve ever used. The big, high-resolution display provides great internet experience thanks to the wonderful Opera Browser. TouchFlo 3D adds to it’s “wow factor”. The sensitivity of the screen is great; sound quality is great and has one of the best GSM modules I’ve come across in the windows mobile arena.”

Xperia X1 Reviewed and Online For Preorder!

Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 is not a bad phone, even with WinMo as the OS, but the price tag and features shoot the Xperia X1 in it’s own foot a bit.
Overall, the custom software upgrades Sony Ericsson added to WinMo 6.1 are good, but feel tacked on; this ranges from random 6.1 elements popping up over the custom UI when you get a call or text, text messages and missed calls that go unreported or the frozen screens that occur when you try to transition to another panel/app. It feels like Sony Ericsson chose WinMo by default, not because it’s the mobile OS they really wanted.
To be blunt, the Xperia X1 isn’t quite up to snuff with the top smartphones in the market from an overall standpoint. Whether you’re talking about its $800 price tag, stylus-based resistive touchscreen or 3.2 MP camera, this is a phone that would have fared better amongst early adopters a year or two ago. So that’s why nobody say the Xperia X1 is a bad phone—on the contrary.
