AMD A8 3520M is a part of the AMD Fusion family of accelerated processing unit (APU). It runs at 1.6GHz clock speed and automatically overclocks itself to 2.5GHz when the Turbocore is activated. Like other AMD APUs, it comes with integrated GPU, which in this case is the ATi Radeon HD 6620G that features hardware decoding for HD videos based on H.264, VC-1, MPEG4 and so on.
The A8 3520M is a quad core CPU and can handle up to 4 threads at a time. TDP of the CPU is 35 watts, which is same as Intel’s full voltage Sandy bridge processors. There is 4MB L2 cache. The CPU scored 4232 in the PCMark Vantage benchmark test, which is same as middle-level Core i5 sandy bridge processors (and no, Core i5 2467M is no way an average performing CPU). This is also higher than the AMD A6 3400M processor that got 3591 in the same benchmark test (conducted by Notebook News).
