Real Tennis offers tennis fans great level of depth by combining use of accelerometer, joypad and some gesture controls. You can move your player by using the virtual D-Pad. It took me 2-3 games to properly master the controls and beat computer.

The game offers you play tennis in different locations; choose different players each having their own strengths (and weeknesses).

Gameplay:

  • To change the position of where the ball should land when you serve, tilt the device to move the crosshair
  • Tilt the device upwards to throw the ball in the air
  • Hit the ball using the stroke button
  • To make a deep stroke, hold the stroke button and up button of D-Pad
  • To make a drop shot, hold the stroke button and down button of D-Pad
  • Swiping up on the stroke button lobs the ball
  • Swiping left or right on the stroke buttons slices the ball

The game cost $4.99 and is available at iTunes App Store

Gameloft Real Soccer 2009 review

There are not many Soccer games for the iPhone and iPod Touch. This is possibly due to the reason that  implementing such games onto the small screen of both the devices can be a challenge for the developers as neither of the devices come with physical buttons that may be used to control the players on the screen. But folks at Gameloft took the challenge and boy, I am very impressed with their work

The Real Soccer is a pretty huge game (77MB install) for iPhone and iPod Touch. But, it was all worth it! It was like playing EA’s Fifa on a PSP or something. It surely gathered a lot of attention around me as nobody had seen anyone playing soccer on their mobile devices in so much better quality as compared to typical ho-hum games based on Java.

Anyway, the game is controlled via on-screen buttons. At first, I was little uneasy controlling the players via those on-screen buttons, but I got accustomed after 5 minutes of game play. Button “A” is for strong kicks, making the other player fall (but be careful, otherwise, you may get a yellow or a red card) and button “B” is for passing the ball around, selecting players.

The game has multiplayer mode in which you can play with your other friends provided they are on the same wifi network.

Features:

- Easily perform the most amazing soccer moves with the touch screen.
- Real-time multiplayer mode to go head-to-head with friends over Wi-Fi.
- 198 teams with real players’ names thanks to the FIFPRO football license.
- 3D graphics worthy of the best handheld soccer games.
- Play throw-ins by tilting your iPhone!
- 12 stadiums entirely modelled in 3D.

What is great about this game:

  • Good graphics
  • Awesome and addictive gameplay
  • Price: Just $0.99!

What I expect in the future upgrades:

  • Commentary: In game commentary would be great. This will help me, not to miss Fifa 2009 when I am on the go.
  • They need to polish the controls. Make them invisible and bigger. Use the accelerometer to move the players around.

Sims 3 review (for iPhone and iPod Touch)

Electronic Arts has released some of the best games for the iPhone/iPod Touch platform. To name a few, Need for Speed Undercover and Tiger Woods PGA Tour. Now, they have come up with another top notch game, Sims 3.

The Sims game has made a lot of buzz in the PC game world and we are pretty sure that it would liked by people and sell as-well-as Need for Speed Undercover, if not better.

Features of Sims 3:

  • Create, control, and explore with The Sims using your iPhone & iPod touch!
  • Experience stunning, 3D open-world environments
  • Edgy camera angles render a provocative, realistic experience
  • Customize your Sims with a variety of personality traits and physical characteristics
  • Enjoy more clothing and accessory options with the Create-A-Sim feature
  • Fulfill your Sims needs and increase the amount of activities available to them
  • Unlock 73 goals & wishes for your Sims to help them self-actualize
  • With no definitive ending, enjoy endless hours of entertainment!

We loved the fact that one can customize the character to a certain level. You can define your character’s clothing; skin color; shoes etc. Of course, you can select whether you wish to be a male or female. I, being a girl, loved choosing gender as male (for a change!) and selecting a spiky-hairstyle!

In  Sims 3, you have to properly ‘take good care’ of the character. Example: you must take to toilet once a day; make sure you take bath once a day; have food everyday; do enjoyment side-by-side and so on.

In the game, you can develop relationships with the members of same gender or opposite gender. When you are in the ‘budding romance’ stage or ‘dating’ stage, you can even give ‘hot smooch’ to each other!

Final Verdict

The Sims 3 is a great game to kill time. It gives typical ‘EA experience’, which is great. Overall, EA has done a fantastic job of porting their PC game to iPhone and iPod Touch. We recommend it.

Swine Flew for iPhone and iPod Touch

The AppStore has lately been hit by a number of games based on Swine Flu and this game, aptly named as Swine Flew is one of them. The game play is pretty simple. You will see some flying pigs in the game and you have to swipe in the upward direction to throw them off. In other words, you have to save a bunch of people from the pigs coming down from the sky.

Here is a video of it.

What’s great!

  • Addictive
  • Flicking the pigs in the air feels great!
  • Cheap

Need For Speed Undercover for iPhone and iPod Touch Review and Cheats

iPhone and iPod Touch users have been waiting for this from past so many months and finally EA has released it. We have been playing with this game on and on because it looks so stunning and gameplay is awesome!

The game costs $9.99, which is pretty steep for an iPhone app, but it is totally worth every penny. Here are few points which justify its price:

  • It has the best graphics for a  game app
  • It is the easiest to play
  • It has the best redering engine
  • You can customize the cars
  • It is from EA!

However, there were few odd things about this game. Like, making changes in the suspension does not make any changes while driving the car. Also, there is no “quick race” mode. You MUST unlock all the levels.

What was missing?

  • No Ferrari models
  • Not many drag races
  • No multiplayer
  • Only 3 music tracks (unlike PC version, which has many)

Here is the video of game in action!

CHEAT

To use this cheat, you must  have cydia on your device.

In Cydia, add this repository

After adding it, downlaod the two Need For Speed files. That will unlock two cars and will also give you 5 million dollars, which is more than enough to buy everything!
