Asus UX21 Specs, Price
Sources close to Asus have announced that the new UX21, due to be released in September, will be priced at about 80% to 90% of the Macbook Air family, putting it at less than $1000. Considering the higher processing power (it can come equipped with either an i5 or i7 chip) this model should be positioned as a prime contender against the Air.
Although not a netbook, the UX21 is ultrathin and ultraportable. It weighs only 2.2 pounds, which is exactly what the 11 inch Macbook Air weighs. Perhaps most impressive is its all-aluminum body. Even the keys are made of aluminum, and the trackpad is made of glass. Also unlike the Air, the UX21 has one USB 3.0 port (the other is USB 2.0). At a price of less than $1000, with a stylish design, and with a feature set rivaling or exceeding the Macbook Air, we can expect this machine to be very popular in the coming months.
