Acer V5 531 Review
The Aspire V5 531 is one of the best under 400 Euros / 500 dollars 15.6 inch notebook out there in the market. That modest amount will get you a 15.6 inch screen, dual core Intel Pentium 967 processor, 4GB RAM, 320GB hard disk drive, HDMI, DVD drive and Windows 7 operating system. Not bad.
The V5 is no ultrabook even though its CPU generates very little heat, thanks to its 17 TDP (identical to TDP of ultrabook processors) Pentium CPU. The notebook weighs 2.1kg with battery inserted.

Notebookjournal Germany which has reviewed Acer V5 531 says you are getting specs of a high end notebook with it. You get DVD drive, USB 3.0 port, excellent keyboard and decent construction.
We have benchmarked the Intel Pentium 967 in the past and it yielded pretty good results. Even though it would not blow the fastest Core i-series Ivy Bridge processor out there, it offers amazing performance for doing everyday work.
The only not to like about it is its average screen. Viewing angles, luminosity and saturation could be better. But, given the price tag, we cannot complain much about it. Also, to use VGA and LAN port, you must use the included adapter. Also check out Acer Iconia B1 review.
