Asus K53 BBR4
Folks at best buy are offering the Asus K53 BBR4 with the new Core i5 2430M processor for just 450 dollars. This is even cheaper than the Samsung NP-RC512-W02US which also has similar specs.
Like we said for that Samsung notebook, the Core i5 processor runs at 2.4GHz under normal circumstances and auto-overclocks to 3.0GHz in turbo boost mode.
The keyboard on the Asus K53 is very similar to the one found on 12 inch Asus Eee PC netbooks like 1215p, but also feature a discrete numpad for crunching in numbers.

Specs – 15.6 inch display, 1366 x 768 pixel resolution, 4GB RAM, 500GB hard disk, Core i5 2430M processor, Intel HD 3000 graphics, Windows 7 home premium operating system and a 6 cell battery. Ports include 3x USB 2.0 ports, multi card reader, HDMI, VGA, 802.11n Wi-Fi, and LAN. There is no Bluetooth.
Asus sells two more models in the K53 series:
- Asus K53SV – It is for those who want a discrete Nvidia 540M GPU along with the integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics.
- Asus K53TA - It features AMD A6 3400M CPU, ATi Radeon HD 6650M GPU which is very powerful.
