Asus is selling the X53U notebook at various online retail shops at pretty cheap prices. The entry level models do not have any Windows operating system on board (not even Windows 7 Starter, which is reserved for netbooks). Since the entry level model (RH11) comes with a pretty weak processor, AMD C50 or C60, many have been thinking to install a light operating system like XP to speed things up, which, apparently is not possible.

Even after hovering over Asus’ website, you will find drivers only for Windows 7 32 bit and Windows 7 64 bit. This is becoming increasingly common with the companies as not many want to make drivers for an operating system, which in this case is XP that is reaching the end of its life. Its mainstream support has already ended and rest of the support will end too in less than two years.
A lot of computer manufactures are simply not interested in creating drivers or software that would not be supported soon. So, our suggestion is to disable all the useless things in the startup options. We also suggest increasing the RAM to 8GB for smoother operation.
