First 512GB SSD now commercially available – Masterdrive RX series
Super Talent, a company based in California has made the 512GB SSD now official. It is a MLC flash drive, which is able to achive astonishing read and write speeds, 230MBps and 200MBps respectively.
“The MasterDrive RX is the latest product utilizing our patented RAIDSSD Technology,” said Super Talent senior product marketing manager Jeremy Werner. “From a performance standpoint it’s like having two SSDs in the space of one, and it extends our standard 2.5″ SATA-II product line to include a 512GB SSD.”
Price? It carries a cost of mind-boggling $1500, which clearly puts it out of reach of many people.
