Gigabyte P2532N, P2532V
Looking for a sandy bridge notebook that can serve as desktop replacement as well? Look no further than the Gigabyte P2532V that packs a 15.6 inch display that is capable of showing 3D content. Unlike P2532N that featured full 1080p resolution, it has only 1366 x 768 pixel screen which is the only thing not to like about this otherwise amazing notebook.
Other than that specs are same. Powered by the Intel Core i7 2630QM processor (also used in Asus G73SW; see its comparison with Core i5 2410M being used in Lenovo 420s) that runs at 2GHz clock speed and 2.9GHz under Turbo mode, it comes with 500GB (or 750GB) hard disk drive spinning at 7200rpm and a DVD burner. Other specs include 2x USB 3.0 ports, 1x eSATA port (doubles as USB 2.0), HDMI port, SD card slot, Bluetooth 3.0, 1.3 mega pixel camera and 802.11n Wi-Fi.
P2532 will be hitting the market shelves sometime in June (2011) for a price tag of 1500 dollars – pretty good deal for a notebook sporting such solid specs.
