Lenovo T510 Review
Lenovo T510 is a 15.6-inch notebook from Lenovo that offers the amazing Nvidia 3100M graphics and Core i5-560M 2.66GHz processor. The finish of the notebook is matte, just like most of the ThinkPad notebooks. The surface has a slight rubbery finish to it that provides a bit of grip. The screen’s hinges are made from stainless steel and should last you for a decade (yes they look that strong). It takes two hands to open or tilt back the notebook.

The built quality is amazing and is clearly built like a tank. The Lenovo T510 is full of ports, no matter from what side you look at it. It comes with 3x USB 2.0 ports, 1x eSATA port, FireWire port, Ethernet, VGA and Display out port. You will also find the good ‘ol modem jack, headset port, Express card slot and SD card reader. If those ports are not enough for you, you can use the Mini Dock that adds 6x USB 2.0 ports, 2x DVI outs, 2x Display ports, 1x VGA ports, headphone and microphone jacks. Bottom of the notebook has two panels that allow easy user upgrades for RAM and HDD. However, only RAM slots are available to the user and if you are going to swap not sticks, you will have to open the T510.

The screen is amazing. The one that I go for review included 1600×900 display with anti glare coating. Color reproduction is okay, thanks to decent 743:1 contrast ratio. The keyboard is easy to type and wonderful typing experience. The touchpad is spacious and has textures that reduce friction and prevent your finger from sticking. Multi touch gestures worked like a charm. Mouse buttons registered click action without applying a lot of effort (which is a good thing). Core i5 and Nvidia 3100M GPU imply that this is a powerful notebook. The GPU supports Optimus technology which automatically switches between dedicated graphics and integrated graphics to improve the battery life. I got a 9-cell battery with the review unit and was able to get 8.5 hours of runtime (balanced profile) from a single charge. These figures are amazing for a Core i5 laptop with so much power packed inside.

Bottom Line – Lenovo T510 is a great notebook for people looking for a Windows notebook that is strong on both performance and built quality.
