Sony Vaio E review

Nothing but good things to say about this laptop especially when compared to others I’ve tried. The i5 processor provides the performance I need and want. It equates to pretty fast start up times especially compared to the i3′s, and opening up large programs or playing demanding games is breezy. I would’ve liked a 1gig dedicated GPU but actually I am very satisfied with the 5470 (512MB) card because the laptop doesn’t get extremely hot even when playing games like COD4MW2 at high settings but @ a little lower resolution (1024 x 768 I believe it was). I am not very satisfied with the screen resolution. See, I do not yearn for a Sony Vaio P like resolution, but having just 1366 x 768 pixel in a 15.6 inch display is just so 2002.

Nowadays I’ve noticed companies sticking people with those horrible for gaming Intel GMA shared video cards so I’m happy I found a 15 incher with 512MB dedicated inside. At first I wanted a gaming laptop and ended up with an Asus G60 which was like 7.5 pounds and close to a 17 inch screen! Not good if you want to carry it to school everyday. Plus it microwaved your left hand and blew fire like air out the cooling vent lol not good. This comp actually blows air out the vent that’s cool to the touch! I know right?!. I decided I won’t settle for anything less than a 512MB dedicated card and found this and it has a lot of extra goodies thrown in too. Bottomline you could pay 200 dollars less and settle for an i3 and an intel GMA shared card, or pay $999 (the price I got mine for plus no tax) which has the intel i5 processor and radeon 5470 GPU. (didn’t include the clunkers that can have i7′s and nice 1gig video cards). Also check out the Sony Vaio T Review.
