Galaxy S3 USB Mass Storage Mode

We have been providing all sorts of latest updates for the Samsung Galaxy S3 here on mobilityupdate. In the first few posts about about the S3, where I talked about Galaxy S3 bugs, I specifically mentioned about the lack of USB mass storage  (UMS) mode. Today, I have a good news for you all  – that particular bug has been solved, thanks to the amazing folks at XDA-developers. To use it, you must root your Galaxy S3. Flash rooted ROM from the link given at the bottom of this post to achieve root on it.
Note to T-mobile Galaxy S3 users (T999) – Please read our Galaxy S3 T-mobile flash drive guide to mount your micro SD as UMS (USB mass storage).

They have released an app called SGS3 Easy UMS that mounts the external micro SD card as USB mass storage device. As you can see in the screenshot above, there are two buttons in the app – one will give you USB storage mode while the second, MTP, will use the default mode for file transfer.

Check out the Samsung Galaxy s3 themes.

Download the apk from here; unzip it and install it on your Galaxy S3. Make sure you have checked ‘install from unknown sources’ on your phone.
