HTC Droid DNA is the first phone with full HD screen to hit the US mainland. To do all sorts of crazy things like the ability to remove any OEM app or third party that came pre-loaded with your phone, you will need to root your phone. Here is a step by step guide on how to root the new Droid DNA phone.
First, unlock the bootloader of your phone. You can do this by visiting HTC’s own site [link]. This will wipe up everything on your phone so make sure to backup anything that is important.
Then, install TWRP using Goomanager app.
1) Install GooManager from the Play Store
2) Open GooManager and provide root permissions
3) Hit Menu (or the button with the 3 dots on your screen) and then Install OpenRecovery
Now, download super su and busybox from here and copy them to the internal storage. Put your phone in bootloader mode and connect it your computer via USB cable. Then, go to the folder where you kept the recovery file and type in this command to flash the recovery image file.
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Reboot your phone into recovery (vol down+power+home button) and flash the super su and busybox package from there. Reboot and you will gain root on your HTC Droid DNA.
