T-Mobile Galaxy S3: How to roll back to ICS after upgrading to Jelly Bean?

Many of us thought that the leaked Jelly bean OTA update for Galaxy S3 T-mobile version (T999) by Sammobile was final, but that was not the case. In our testing, we found many third party apps crashing constantly. Also, you loose root after upgrading to it. As a result, many want to roll back to ICS (Android 4.0.4).

Unfortunately, the procedure is not so straight forward, but we did found a way on how to do it. First, download ODIN (anything above v3 will do). Extract the files to a folder. Now, download the last official ICS firmware from sammobile (link). Download the one with PDA “ T999UVALH2”.

Extract it and fire up odin on your computer. Put your phone in download mode (vol down + home + power button) and connect it to your computer. Browse for the T999UVALH2_T999TMBALH2_T999UVALH2_HOME.tar.md5 and click Start the flashing (as shown in the picture above). Keep in mind that this will erase all the data on your phone (except SD card data of course).

After the flash is complete, your T-mobile Galaxy S3 will reboot. Hold the volume up + home + power button to enter recovery mode. Clear cache and do a factory reset from there. You will now boot into ICS.
