Asus Transformer Prime Review

Even though the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime has not hit the retail stores, a YouTube user was able to get his hands on a pre production unit and he has published a video review of it. For those who do not know, Transformer Prime is one of the first Nvidia Tegra 3 powered tablets. This chip has four cores and packs a lot of power.

It runs at 1.4GHz clock speed and can easily playback 1080p video, just like its predecessor, Nvidia Tegra 2. That being said, it is still less powerful than the Apple A5 chip which is being used in Apple iPad 2 and iPhone 4s.

The Prime tablet comes with a new version of Riptide, a fancy racing game that has been updated to make use of all four cores for better FPS and overall performance. The lid of the tablet is similar to Asus Zenbook notebooks. Keyboard dock is thinner than the previous generation, but has same keyboard layout. Stay tuned for reviews from other sources.
