Install Stock Android web browser in Nexus 7 (or Android 4.1)

Tablets and phones that come with Android 4.1 Jelly bean pre-installed have Google Chrome web browser set as default browser. This does not supports flash even if you install the APK of the flash plugin. Fortunately, you can load the stock web browser (AOSP) easily.

Installation is pretty straight forward. Just make sure you have rooted your Nexus 7 and have installed ES File Explorer as this requires you to change file permissions. Then, download the APK from [multiupload] and place it in the /system/app folder.

Now change its permissions from rw——- to rw-r–r—. Wait, we are not done yet. If you see either of these files browser provider.apk and browser provider.odex, then rename them. Not doing this will just close the web browser.

Reboot your Jelly bean device and you are done. Just download flash plugin for android 4.1 and you will browsing web pages in all their glory like a champ.
