Sharp Aquos Tab SHT21 with IGZO display

In less than a week, Apple will be releasing iPad Mini and to combat that, Sharp has already released its own 7 inch tablet. What makes it so special is its IGZO (indium gallium zinc oxide) display. The screen is very power frugal and promises 2.5x battery life without increasing the battery capacity.

The IGZO replaces the TFT screens that consume more power and less compact. Backlight in IGZO consumes much less power and produces same amount of illumination as a conventional TFT display panel.

Specs of SHT21 are pretty decent – 7 inch screen, 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, 1GB RAM, Qualcomm S4 1.5GHz dual core processor (which means its performance should be same as T-mobile version of Galaxy S3), 16GB flash storage, LTE radio, 802.11n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It will come with Android 4.0 ICS on board. Pricing information is not available.
