Wisen Up for iPhone and iPod Touch – get ready to become wiser than ever!

Wisen Up is a simple, yet very funny application for the iPhone and iPod Touch that comes packed with 25  quizes and facts. This app is an effective way to kill time especially when you are waiting in a long queue; waiting for your turn at the dentist and so on!

Here are the categories on which quizes and facts are based:

  • Body language
  • Ancient cures
  • Be a doctor
  • Funny medical snippets
  • Tell me why
  • Myths
  • Weird, incurable diseases
  • Amazing body facts
  • Types of doctors
  • Name your fear
  • First aid mistakes

My favorite feature of the whole application is the “Personality Quizzes”. I gave the questionnaire of “Are you a ladies man?” and boy, I was glad of the result

Gameloft Real Soccer 2009 review

There are not many Soccer games for the iPhone and iPod Touch. This is possibly due to the reason that  implementing such games onto the small screen of both the devices can be a challenge for the developers as neither of the devices come with physical buttons that may be used to control the players on the screen. But folks at Gameloft took the challenge and boy, I am very impressed with their work

The Real Soccer is a pretty huge game (77MB install) for iPhone and iPod Touch. But, it was all worth it! It was like playing EA’s Fifa on a PSP or something. It surely gathered a lot of attention around me as nobody had seen anyone playing soccer on their mobile devices in so much better quality as compared to typical ho-hum games based on Java.

Anyway, the game is controlled via on-screen buttons. At first, I was little uneasy controlling the players via those on-screen buttons, but I got accustomed after 5 minutes of game play. Button “A” is for strong kicks, making the other player fall (but be careful, otherwise, you may get a yellow or a red card) and button “B” is for passing the ball around, selecting players.

The game has multiplayer mode in which you can play with your other friends provided they are on the same wifi network.

Features:

- Easily perform the most amazing soccer moves with the touch screen.
- Real-time multiplayer mode to go head-to-head with friends over Wi-Fi.
- 198 teams with real players’ names thanks to the FIFPRO football license.
- 3D graphics worthy of the best handheld soccer games.
- Play throw-ins by tilting your iPhone!
- 12 stadiums entirely modelled in 3D.

Here is the video of the game in action:

What is great about this game:

  • Good graphics
  • Awesome and addictive gameplay
  • Price: Just $0.99!

What I expect in the future upgrades:

  • Commentary: In game commentary would be great. This will help me, not to miss Fifa 2009 when I am on the go.
  • They need to polish the controls. Make them invisible and bigger. Use the accelerometer to move the players around.

Cute Math launched by Bokan Technologies

Bokan Technologies has taken wraps off Cute Math, a game meant for the small children which lets them learn numbers. However some people are extremely annoyed  due to the fact that the game asks you to give it the permission to know your location. There is just no reason to know the location in the game, which has pis*ed a lot of people.

“The best game I have found so far is Cute Math. Yes, you heard me light Math that’s cute,  for under a buck! Your little one can count baby penguins, pick the right amount of apples to put in a basket, move some happy birds around to solve addition problems, and drop apples off a tree to solve subtraction problems. The best feature of this game is the modeling involved all of the cute animals and boject become manipulatives that you can move around to help solve the problem. For instance, for the problem 3+4=____ there are 3 happy birds on one wire, and 4 happy birds on another. One tap of the screen sends all of the birds to one wire, and your child can easily count the birds altogether. Good stuff. Did I mention that it’s also cute?”

The Moron Test for iPhone and iPod Touch

The Moron Test is a  pretty simple, yet very addictive game. The main objective of the game is how fast you clear the levels. The game is very easy and anyone can pass all the levels, but what matters is the speed at which you clear them.

As you continue to pass the levels, the questions do get a little trickier, but not that difficult. All you have to do is memorize the steps and  you will face no problems in passing the levels.

Swine Flew for iPhone and iPod Touch

The AppStore has lately been hit by a number of games based on Swine Flu and this game, aptly named as Swine Flew is one of them. The game play is pretty simple. You will see some flying pigs in the game and you have to swipe in the upward direction to throw them off. In other words, you have to save a bunch of people from the pigs coming down from the sky.

Here is a video of it.

What’s great!

  • Addictive
  • Flicking the pigs in the air feels great!
  • Cheap

iSwineFlu Review

This is one of the most pathetic games we have ever come across in AppStore. Not only it has poor graphics, but is also poorly programmed. There is no pause button in it. Also, there is no way you can return to the menu. Well, there is nothing in the menu itself anyway.

For 10 minutes, we were unable to figure out where the gun is? We had something in front of us to control, but due to the poorly designed graphics, we were unable to make out, what it was. This finally forced us to the read the “how to play” instructions.

You have to tilt your device and hit the trigger simultaneously to kill the pigs that come-by. Here is the video of the game:

Do we recommend it?

Hell No! Do not waste your money. Instead save money for NFS Undercover that retails for $9.99, which is really worth it.
