iRiver T5 reviewed

Pocketables.net has recently published a review of the iRiver T5. Jenn, who has written the review is quite impressed with the unit. She says

“The iriver T5 doesn’t offer anything new or exciting to the DAP world, but it’s not too bad for less than $40. The convenience of having a USB jack built in and being able to wear the player using the detachable plastic clip can’t be denied either. Sound quality, design, and build quality all score respectable marks as well.”

The player would’ve made a nice stocking stuffer a few days ago and I can see it being a doorprize at an office party, but unless you plan to give it away or you get it as a gift, there isn’t a compelling reason to go out and buy one. If iriver didn’t already have the T7, it would be easier to see the value of the something like the T5. Releasing the two players within six months of each other, however, doesn’t make sense unless consumers were clamoring for a wearable stopwatch that plays music.

In short, the T5 is good but unnecessary in iriver’s lineup. Keep it if you get it for free, but if you’ve got about $40 to spend on a supplemental DAP, get the Sansa Clip instead.

Review of ASUS P552W

Our friends at gadgetmix.com have done a review of ASUS P552W. Here is what they had to say,

If you don’t care much about VGA and want pure speed and performance, then look no further. ASUS P552W is a great deal especially considering the fact that it is SIM-unlocked, meaning that you can use it with any provider/carrier. Coupled with the excellent build-quality by ASUS, it is an overall great package.

HTC TOUCH HD detail review

Folks at mobile-review have published a massive review of the HTC TOUCH HD. They seem to have really liked the device. Here is what they have to say about the device.

We never experienced any problems with the HTC Touch HD’s cellular module – the reception quality was okay, and the earpiece was just loud enough to make for audible calls in just about any environment, although it got nearly impossible to deal with at the top volume settings. The loudspeaker found in the HD is a tad louder than that of the Diamond or Touch Pro. Despite being housed in a cumbersome casing, the Touch HD sports a sharp vibro alert that will get through to you even if you put the phone in a shoulder bag.

Retailing for around 600 Euro, the Touch HD will be a fairly interesting offering in Europe – we doubt that its dazzling display will go unnoticed. On top of that, being only 100-150 Euro more expensive than the Touch Diamond, it comes with a handful of enhancements, such as 3.5 mm audio jack and 5 Mpix camera. Clearly, it’s not a mainstream phone, but not a cumbersome and barely usable powerhouse either. Continue…

Speed Brain iPhone Game review

The fabulous game, Lumosity has been reviewed by the guys of theappleblog. Here is what they have to say about it:

The game is designed as a quick daily brain exercise — so don’t expect to spend more than 2 minutes a day with it. It’s definitely a one-trick pony, but if you believe these types of exercises help your brain to stay in shape (and most doctors do) then it’s the perfect game for standing in line at the grocery store or at the coffee shop.

MSI VR220 YA Edition laptop review

After looking at the picture, you will get surprised because MSI VR220 YA Edition laptop is really nice and unique piece. This has come with compatible and cheap price tag $699. This device is manipulated in such a way to confront other 12.1″ laptops even though it has comparatively bulky frame. It has 2GHz T3200 CPU which is a good step for Atoms. Personally I feel that it is a good tiny laptop especially for the folks obsessed with performance. Continue…
